Amazon Solution Provider Portal (SPP) Registration & Approval Guide

What is Solution Provider Portal (SPP)?

Solution Provider Portal (SPP) is a dedicated gateway for third party developers and Solution providers to onboard and manage their offerings to Amazon seller and vendor customers.

Sharing the learning from Sohail Asghar (Click here to follow him) Submission and approval:

Documentation he submitted for account verification:

  • Business Type: Pakistani Company
  • Business Name: His Company Name
  • Registration Number: This may be the reference number from your FBR tax submission papers or the company registration number.
  • ID Number: CNIC Number  (Front & Back)
  • For OTP: Skype (Vyke also receive the OTP).
  • ID Document: CNIC (Urdu)
  • Bank Statement: Payoneer Bank Statement (must include the address you want to register & You can also submit Local Bank Statement but Make sure the correct address).

Note: His ID Card and Payoneer address are matching.

Procedure of Document Submission & ID Verification:

Submit scanned copies of your passport (Front and Signed side in one PDF)/ID Card (CNIC – Front & Back), and bank statement as they are, a signed copy if it is from a local bank (where they can see your address).

A video interview will be required, where you will be asked to hold your ID card and perform various folding movements of the ID Document to prove that it is a real and physical document.

After Account Verification:

Applying for the Services:

There might be two possible scenarios:

1. Amazon directly approves the request without asking for a flat file.

2. Amazon requests a flat file to be filled with justification for the requested access.

  1. Amazon Directly Approving the Request Without a Flat File:

If you request adequate permissions in the relevant service, Amazon will most likely not ask you to submit a flat file, and they will approve it within a week as per Abdullah Experience. For example, if you request only the “Edit” permission for “Campaign Manager” when applying for Amazon Advertising access, Amazon will likely approve that specific permission without requiring you to fill out an Excel file with justification. As shown in following pic:

  1. Flat File Uploading for requested permissions

Let’s get back to Sohail’s submission. He has now applied for the Enhanced Brand (A+) Content Service and requested permissions for various sections. As a result, Amazon automatically opened a case. In their case reply, they sent him an Excel file there, where they are asking for the justification of each section and role with respect to your requested service, and the file looks like the following:

Roles (Flat) File Details:

There are the following Columns:

1. Restricted Role Category or Role Category

2. Restricted Role Name or Role Name

3. Restricted Role Type or Role Type

4. “Do not Need (Please mark it with ‘X’ if you consider this role Is actually not necessary)”

5. “Provide a reason for requesting this Role (Please write a specific reason for each role that you’re requesting)”

6. “Provide a reason for requesting the specific role type level (View, Edit, Admin) (Please write a specific reason for each role that you’re requesting)”

7. “Provide practical examples of how this role is needed to offer your service (Please write specific examples for each role that you’re requesting)”

8. “(Optional) Include any additional details about your request for this restricted role (Feel free to include any other details)”

Here they divided the file in two sections, one for the restricted services and another for the services that are not labelled restricted. For restricted tabs the following additional Columns:

  1. “Provide a reason for requesting the specific role type level (View, Edit, Admin) (Please write a specific reason for each role that you’re requesting)”
  2. “Provide practical examples of how this role is needed to offer your service (Please write specific examples for each role that you’re requesting)”
  3. “(Optional) Include any additional details about your request for this restricted role (Feel free to include any other details)”

Note: Some roles are restricted because they grant access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about Amazon buyers. This is why Amazon requires additional information regarding your data usage and security controls.

For the the rest they mainly asked the following:

  1. “Do not Need (Please mark it with ‘X’ if you consider this role Is actually not necessary)”
  2. “Provide a reason for requesting this Role (Please write a specific reason for each role that you’re requesting)”

Justification Submission Tip:

The following structure is useful when answering questions regarding justification:

Role Introduction – Such as starting sentence by naming a specific Amazon role in quotation marks.

Role Importance – It explains why the role is critical, often mentioning its impact on order fulfillment, delivery, invoicing, inventory, returns, or purchase orders.

Business Justification – The statement explains why the role is needed from the perspective of a service provider (Solution Provider), emphasizing how the role supports business goals.

Potential Risks of Not Having the Role – It discusses the negative consequences of not having the role,

General Structure:

[Role Name] role is essential/crucial/critical for [specific function]. As an advertising optimization service provider, we need this role to [reason related to advertising/marketing efficiency]. This helps in [avoiding specific negative outcomes].

The above structure is given just to help you get started and give you a sense regarding reasoning submission.

Submission of the Excel File:

Simply send the filled file in the reply of the respective service case that Amazon opened when you applied for that specific service.

Requested Permissions Access after the Submission & Approval:

After submission of this Excel file document with the justifications, it is not guaranteed that you are going to get access to all the requested Tabs/Sections. The key here is that most probably they will give you access to the sections where your core requested service (such as A+ Content, Advertisement Optimization, etc.) justifies the usage of that section with that specified role. For example, if you are asking for Order Fulfillment services under A+ Content, they might reject your justification regardless of what you write, but they might give you access for “Products View,” “Brand Tailored Promotions,” “Create Brand Name,” etc.

So, he received the approval email from Amazon within 7-8 days, as shown below:

Note: Also, remember amazon sending different excel file for each requested services. So, do not assume you can use the same file for every other service.

After Service Approval:

After the approval of the services, you are able to edit the same service such as ask the new roles and section again.

When they approve the Service, they might highlight the following reason of approval and what it enables regarding your usage of the service at the seller account in the reply:

Additionally, your request for Service Provider role access has been approved only for the roles that match your qualifications.

The role access approval enables Sellers to authorize your account with the approved permissions through Seller Central’s User Permission settings when they designate you as their Authorized Partner.

Service providers who register on the Solution Provider Portal (SPP) are officially recognized by Amazon and are able to perform tasks associated with the roles that are assigned to them. Registered SPP service providers can delegate user permissions to their employees using the Permissions Manager.
